From 2 to 4 July 2021, 25 high school students from the Luxembourg Tech School (LTS) joined forces in a hackathon to get older people on board with digitalisation. In 48 hours, they designed digital financial products to help older people. After intense jury deliberations, the 3 winners are:

  • CyberLearn: an application to learn the basics of cyber security and online banking
  • Credit Chicken: an application that will adapt the interface of applications to the needs of users, especially in terms of usability and security
  • Bank Assist: an extension that will explain the functionality of an existing banking application, either on screen or via a live call.

Catherine Bourin, member of the ABBL Management Board and Jessica Thyrion, Financial Education Adviser at the ABBL, were part of the jury.

The Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière fully supports this initiative. The financial sector is developing rapidly, and digitalisation is a key challenge that needs specific skills. We strongly believe that financial services should be accessible to all, including senior citizens.
