What does it mean to invest in sustainable finance? While the subject is well understood by professionals in the banking sector, it is less so by the general public. According to a recent survey on sustainable finance in Luxembourg conducted by the ABBL Foundation, the CSSF and the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), citizens are ready to invest part of their assets in sustainable finance products, but their knowledge of this field remains fragmented.
The aim is therefore clear: to make citizens aware that it is possible to make their savings grow while supporting responsible projects that respect ethical, environmental and/or social values, to inform them about all the criteria of sustainable finance (the ESG spectrum) and to equip them to ask the right questions to understand the existing product range. And finally: to invite them to take action and discuss with a financial adviser.
To achieve this objective, the ABBL Foundation for Financial Education, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the Association Luxembourgeoise des Fonds d'Investissement (ALFI) and the Ministry for Consumer Protection have joined forces to create a national campaign.
The result? An eye-catching visual, that highlights three reasons for sustainable investment: the planet, human rights and an inclusive world. You will have the opportunity to see this campaign throughout March and until 15 April, with a highlight during the Woch vun de Suen, the national money week (20-24 March).
As an organisation, you too can participate in this campaign by sharing it on your channels! Interested? Contact the ABBL Member Relations team.
