The ABBL and its Fondation ABBL pour l'éducation financière launched on 13 November 2017 a joint research project with the University of Luxembourg and its Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) on the distributed ledger prototype and data analytics for KYC (Know Your Customer).

This four-year project aims to develop and test new conceptual and technological approaches to KYC procedures in the financial services sector enabling financial institutions to use more efficient methods of customer identification.

The feedback has been positive so far, due to automation of processes, thereby reducing costs, with the possibility that banks can generate revenue in the system developed.
