It was already the 9th edition of the Woch vun de Suen or Money Week in Luxembourg! Organised by the ABBL Foundation for financial education, D'Woch vun de Suen took place from 20 to 24 March 2023. The aim was to raise awareness of good money management and responsible consumption among children in cycle 4 of the basic school (10 to 12 years old).

988 pupils from 69 primary schools participated. The trainers numbered 74: members of the ABBL and ALFI, as well as employees of the CSSF.

This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth and is part of the European Money Week / Global Money Week.

Money Odyssey, a financial education app

New this year: the participating pupils were able to test Money Odyssey, a mobile application for financial education. Developed by the ABBL Foundation with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, it has two levels of difficulty, one for young people (from 10 years old), the other for adults. The app is currently available in German and French and is available for free on Google Play and App Store.

Financial education is a subject that is particularly close to my heart. That is why I was very happy to participate in the Woch vun de Suen.  The enthusiasm and joy with which the 10-12 year olds participated reinforced my belief that financial education should start at primary school. The Money Odyssey was very well received by the C.4.1 class of Beaufort Primary School! A big thank you to the pupils and their teacher for their enthusiasm.
