Partnership and collaboration with Inspiring More Sustainability (IMS)
The IMS has been at the origin of many CSR initiatives. As a member of the IMS, ABBL staff members take part in many of these initiatives, such as seminars and training.
As our association wants to gain experience in the field of CSR, we closely follow the activities of the IMS. We also delegate a board member to the pre-jury of the IMS Diversity Awards.
In 2020, the ABBL re-launched cooperation through the signing of the IMS Diversity Charter.
Promoting diversity and inclusion
A partnership with the University has been developed to offer internships to students. 5 students have joined us for an internship in 2019.
In addition, we adapt the lighting in the HOF building for awareness raising purposes. The ABBL participated in the following "Light it up" actions:
- Autism Week (01/04/2019)
- Movement to combat violence against women. (November 2019 and 2020)
- Pink October month for the prevention of breast cancer
Philanthropic actions
Relay for Life
Since 2011, ABBL employees have been participating in the "Relay for Life", an event that aims to show solidarity with patients suffering from cancer. This race symbolises the journey undertaken by a cancer patient, with its ups and downs.
Masks in solidarity
ABBL bought fabric masks: a first order was made for the benefit of the association "musculation Hayange", and a second order was fabricated by a refugee and his family. These masks were offered to our employees and to our members and partners as a way of wishing them good health, accompanied by Médecins du Monde Christmas cards.
The story behind the masks is quite special: Mohammed Al-Hashimi and his family sewed 14,000 masks and distributed them for free in Luxembourg, as a way of thanking Luxembourg for its hospitality. The ABBL was proud to support sustainable production "made in Luxembourg" and in particular the project of the Al-Hashimi family.
Stëmm vun der Stroos
Donation of 2000 € (Honorary Member), following the solidarity breakfasts organised in the building of the Chamber of Finance, where the employees prepared cakes and sold them, as well as books, CDs, DVDs, homemade marmalades, etc.
DONNA Luxembourg
Sale of pink Christmas bubbles in December 2019 (breast cancer prevention action)
DayCARE
Participation in DayCARE every year: with this initiative, the ABBL supports students in Luxembourg and the professional training of young midwives in Laos and Niger. In 2020, as no students could be accommodated in the premises due to sanitary conditions, a donation was made.
Christmas actions
Collection of toys from the staff of the Maison des finances, given to the Red Cross in December 2019.
