The ABBL is the largest professional association in the financial sector, representing the majority of financial institutions as well as regulated financial intermediaries, law firms, consultancies, auditors, market infrastructures, e-money and payment institutions.

This makes us truly representative of the diversity of the Luxembourg financial centre, placing us in a unique position, able to give the entire sector a voice at both national and international level.

    The ABBL is open to banks, regulated financial intermediaries, and professionals working in or for the financial sector in Luxembourg, such as lawyers, consultants, payments or service providers and auditors. Contact our Member Relations team for more information.

  • Mission & Priorities

    The ABBL is an industry association with a long history of promoting, defending and defining the banking sector in Luxembourg. We give our members a common voice, provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and keep them informed of industry trends and regulatory development.

  • Governance

    The ABBL is a non-profit association, made up of member organisations from across the financial sector. Our mission and priorities are set by the Board of Directors, which is composed of senior representatives of our membership. The Board of Directors is led by a Chair and a Vice-Chair, who are elected by members for a two-year term.

    Day to day management of the association is taken care of by the ABBL Secretariat, led by the CEO and the Management Board. We number around 40 staff, highly qualified expert advisers in specific fields of interest and support staff.

    In addition to our Luxembourg office, we have a representative office in Brussels, which ensures that our voice is heard at the European level.
