Want to know more about financial education? The ABBL offers you brochures and videos on financial topics. Here are other materials that may be of interest to you.
Financial education and consumer protection
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has a section on financial education on its website. Here you will find relevant dossiers, documents and events.
In addition, the website of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) has a section entirely aimed at consumers. It contains information on specific topics such as tracing assets, deposit guarantees, consumer credit agreements, etc.
Over-indebtedness
The Ligue médico-sociale has a section on its website dedicated to over-indebtedness. It contains a wealth of information as well as practical tools: an expenditure and revenue table, a budget plan and calculation tools to calculate your family budget and debt ratio.
Furthermore, the Service d’Information et de Conseil en matière de Surendettement (SICS) website also provides useful information, including the first steps for debtors and creditors, the collective debt settlement procedure and standard forms and letters. These are currently only available in French.
Understanding the terms of a contract
The Union Luxembourgeoise des Consommateurs (ULC) offers on its website a brochure containing the legal concepts that you may be confronted with as a consumer when signing a contract. The brochure (in French) is divided into two parts:
- Contracts in general: how are they formed? How to terminate a contract?
- A glossary of terms related to contract law
For young people
