The Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière was founded in September 2016. Its purpose is to support and promote financial education through the organisation of events, training in the field of finance and university courses via the University of Luxembourg. The Fondation ABBL pour l'éducation financière has four objectives:
- Raise awareness on financial education among the general public
- Support professional training in the field of finance
- Develop academic programs in finance through the University of Luxembourg
- Encourage research by funding PhDs, post-doctorates and professorships.

Research programme “Trustworthy AI for instant AML Due Diligence”
The ABBL, its Foundation and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) jointly initiated a research programme, “Trustworthy AI for instant AML Due Diligence”, in order to develop tech solutions for the mutual benefit of the ABBL, its members and the SnT. The goal of this initiative is to develop a tool to address potential trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) in the banking sector and to provide solutions for instant payment due diligence.
